Shakespearelaan, Sprookjesbos, and Aanschotpark

Blixembosch is recognizable by its thematic street names. In one part, streets are named after English writers, with Shakespearelaan as the main road. In the other part, streets have fairy tale names: the Sprookjesbos (Fairy Tale Forest) as the entrance. It gives the neighborhood a unique identity not found anywhere else in Eindhoven.

The Aanschotpark runs as a green strip through the middle, separating Blixembosch-West from Blixembosch-Oost. The park connects to the Henri Dunantpark and offers walking paths, playgrounds, and greenery within walking distance of the homes.

Blixembosch-West was built in the late eighties. Blixembosch-Oost followed in the nineties and is larger. Blixembosch Buiten (Outer Blixembosch) is the most recent expansion on the edge, where construction is still ongoing. The neighborhood is still growing.

Single-Family Homes, Owner-Occupied Neighborhood with Rental Opportunities

Blixembosch is predominantly an owner-occupied neighborhood: 87% of the homes in Blixembosch-Oost are owner-occupied. The house type is ground-bound: terraced houses, semi-detached houses, and detached houses with gardens. There are fewer apartments.

The supply of rental properties is more limited than in the city center or Woensel-Zuid. But those who are patient will find single-family homes on the open market here. New projects in Blixembosch Buiten will also add rental homes. Prices are higher than in the older parts of Woensel-Noord but lower than in Meerhoven.

The homes are modern by Eindhoven standards. The oldest parts date from the eighties, the newest are from after 2013. Well-insulated, spacious, and with parking on private property or on the street.

Highway Next Door, City Center Twenty Minutes Away

The A50 runs along the northern edge of Blixembosch. This is convenient for motorists: via the Ekkersrijt interchange, you can be on the highway towards Nijmegen or Tilburg within five minutes. A vegetated sound barrier dampens traffic noise. In neighborhoods close to the highway, it is still audible.

The city center is further away. By bus, it takes about twenty-five minutes. By bike, it takes fifteen to twenty minutes, depending on where you live. WoensXL, the large shopping center of Woensel-Noord, is closer and offers everything you need daily.

Parking is not a problem in Blixembosch. Most homes have their own parking space. Street parking is usually free in the neighborhood.

Own Shopping Center, Primary School, and Park

Winkelcentrum Blixembosch (Blixembosch Shopping Center) offers a supermarket and daily amenities within walking distance. Primary school De Boschuil is located in the neighborhood. Childcare is available. The Aanschotpark and Henri Dunantpark offer play space and greenery without leaving the neighborhood.

For more extensive shopping, dining, and culture, you can cycle to WoensXL or the city center. Blixembosch is a residential area, not an entertainment district. That's exactly why families are drawn here.

On the edge of the neighborhood are recreational areas like Aquabest and the Sonse Heide, accessible by bike.
