Bolnes is located on the west side of Ridderkerk, also along the Noord. The neighborhood has a layered housing stock. On the riverside, there are social housing units from the early twentieth century, built for factory workers. Further inland, you'll find apartment buildings from the 1960s and 1970s, and on the south side, more expensive terraced houses and semi-detached homes from the 1990s.
This mix makes Bolnes the most varied neighborhood in Ridderkerk in terms of housing types. It's not a neighborhood that charms at first glance, but its waterside location, short distance to the center, and relatively low rents compared to similar neighborhoods in Barendrecht or Zwijndrecht attract tenants willing to look beyond initial impressions.

From the Ridderkerk-De Schans stop, the Waterbus (line 20) sails to the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam and on to Dordrecht. Free parking at the stop. Commute to work by water while the A16 is jammed.
In addition, several RET bus lines run towards Rotterdam-South, Barendrecht, and Dordrecht. By car, you can quickly reach the Ridderkerk junction, one of the busiest traffic hubs in South Holland, via the A15 or A16. Outside of rush hour, Rotterdam city center is a twenty-minute drive. During rush hour, the Waterbus is the smartest alternative.
Island Between Three Rivers
