About Hilversum
Living in Hilversum means choosing the best of both worlds. You live in the heart of 't Gooi, surrounded by heath and forests, but with all urban amenities within reach. Hilversum is, of course, known as the media city of the Netherlands, with the Media Park as its beating heart. This creates a dynamic and creative atmosphere in the city.
In practice, life here is very comfortable. For your daily groceries, you never have to go far; there are plenty of supermarkets and specialty shops, such as in the cozy Gijsbrecht van Amstelstraat. The city center offers a wide range of shops and restaurants. With various schools, sports clubs, and cultural institutions like the MCO and Beeld & Geluid, it's a great place for both singles and families.
Accessibility is a huge plus. From one of the three train stations (Central, Media Park, Sportpark), you can be in Amsterdam, Utrecht, or at Schiphol within 20-30 minutes. By car, you can quickly travel throughout the country via the A1 and A27 motorways. On weekends, you can relax with a walk on the heath or a bike ride to the nearby Loosdrechtse Plassen.
